Notice: Scam Emails Targeting Legionnaires in District 8

Please be aware that scammers are targeting members across the District with fraudulent emails that appear to come from the District Commander or other District officers.

These emails often begin with vague or urgent language designed to gain your trust
and pressure you to respond quickly.

An example we've received reads:

"Hello, Are you less busy at the moment? I got a request for you to manage discreetly. I will be going into a meeting shortly, please no calls so kindly respond back via email."

If you receive a suspicious message like this:

Do not respond, click any links, or open any attachments.
Ensure the sender’s email is one you recognize and trust.
Report it to the District webmaster.
If anything seems unusual, confirm the request by reaching out through a trusted phone number or email, not by replying to the suspicious message.

Stay alert and help spread the word to protect your fellow Legionnaires.

EAA Chapter 640
Armed Forces Day
EAA Chapter 640 (Wausau) has started an annual event for Armed Forces Day where they honor all those who have served and are serving.

This year, Chapter 640 started a project called the Wall of Honor. They are hoping to have local veterans' stories on this wall and grow with it to have it as a display for years to come.

Chapter 640 is willing to sit down with anyone and write their stories with them.
